UN SPECIAL POLITICAL AND DECOLONIZATION COMMITTEE
AGENDA: Investigating the Consequences of Ongoing Tensions on the Korean Peninsula.
At the UN Special Political and Decolonisation Committee (UNSPECPOL) at ABMUN 2025, delegates will have the opportunity to closely examine the global implications of centuries-old conflict on the Korean Peninsula - with close tensions between the Republic of Korea and the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea fuelling a war beyond the battlefield, cultural warfare and the impact of global trade continue to stoke the fire on this key landmass in Eastern Asia.
Delegates in this committee will not just be tested on their ability to broker peace and stability at a global level, but also their ability to place their national interests at the forefront of resolution, without compromising on the issue’s greater gravitas worldwide. With the lives of millions of Koreans in this committee’s hands, every misplaced move could lead to geopolitical disaster - so it’s important to move wisely!
