CORE SECRETARIAT

DSC_9591_edited_edited.jpg

Dear Delegates,

It is a privilege to be writing to you as the Secretary-General of ABMUN 2025. Last year, I introduced myself as Director-General, hoping to live up to the responsibility. This year, I have the honour of leading the conference once again, with greater experience, perspective, and excitement.

My name is Arhaan Zaveri, and I am currently in Grade 12. Beyond academics, I spend much of my time on sports, playing the guitar, and, of course, indulging in the occasional food adventure. MUNs have been a part of my life for six years now, and throughout this journey I have grown both as a delegate and as a person. They have taught me confidence, diplomacy, teamwork, and even how to stay composed when committee turns unexpectedly chaotic.

For me, ABMUN has always been about much more than debate. It is about the friendships formed in the lobby, the alliances built (and sometimes broken) in committee, the thrill of a crisis that takes everyone by surprise, and the memories that remain long after the closing ceremony. These are the moments that make this conference truly unique.

My advice to each of you is simple: prepare thoroughly, but once you are in committee, do not hold back. Deliver that bold speech, take part in the crisis, draft that ambitious communiqué. Whether or not you walk away with an award, what matters most is that you leave with experiences and stories that you will carry with you far beyond ABMUN.

On behalf of the entire Secretariat, I look forward to watching the committees come alive with powerful speeches, innovative solutions, and engaging debates. I hope ABMUN 2025 is as rewarding for you as it already has been for us in preparing it.

Warm regards,

Arhaan Zaveri

DEPUTY SECRETARY GENERAL - VIVAAN DHARAMSHI

Dear Delegates,

It’s my absolute pleasure to welcome you to ABMUN 2025 as your Deputy Secretary General. I’m Vivaan Dharamshi, currently in Grade 12 in A levels. What first pulled me into MUN wasn’t just the debate itself, but the energy around it. There’s nothing like the mix of heated arguments, late-night research, last-minute drafting, and then somehow balancing all of that with roses and dances in the evening. MUN has this unique way of throwing you into the middle of chaos and then teaching you how to find your voice in it.

Over the years, I’ve realised that MUN isn’t about sounding the smartest in the room or collecting awards. It’s about pushing yourself to speak when you’re unsure, learning to negotiate even when you disagree, and building connections with people you’d probably never meet otherwise. Some of my best memories aren’t from the committee sessions themselves but from the random conversations and friendships that came out of them.

This year, I’m working alongside an amazing Secretariat who are as excited as I am to bring ABMUN 2025 to life. Our goal isn’t just to run a smooth conference but to create an environment where you can argue, collaborate, mess up, laugh it off, and still come out of it with something meaningful to take home.

As you prepare, don’t get lost in the idea that it’s all about awards. Speak with conviction, do your research, but also enjoy the madness that comes with it. Because at the end of the day, MUN is meant to be remembered for the moments you didn’t plan as much as the speeches you did. I can’t wait to see the debates unfold, the communiqués fly around, and the unique energy that makes ABMUN what it is.

Warm regards,

Vivaan Dharamshi

DIRECTOR GENERAL - ATHARV SRIVASTAV

Dear Delegates,

It is with immense privilege and honour that I, Atharv Srivastav, Director General, get to invite each of you to the 11th edition of ABMUN. Currently I am in the 12th grade as part of the IBDP Program with my main interests in Economics and Physics. I’ve been doing MUN for 4 years and it has been an integral part of my life as it’s helped me think on the spot, improve my general knowledge as well as develop my confidence while giving speeches.

Diplomacy and responsibility has never only belonged to governments, rather it belongs to people bold enough to question, argue and act. In such an unpredictable world, chaos has become the new normal. Yet within this chaos lies an extraordinary opportunity, the chance for young leaders like us to redefine the language of dialogue and the practice of diplomacy. The challenges of today are not confined to borders or headlines. In a world so deeply interconnected, no issue can be understood in isolation.

Every crisis overlaps, every decision ripples outward. This reality demands that we look beyond simple solutions and embrace the complexity of global affairs with clarity, creativity, and courage. My only piece of advice would be to be confident and fearless, raise your placards to talk as much as you can and state your point clearly while being open minded during the committee. Feel free to approach the EB during and before committee hours if in case you have any questions.

To conclude, remember to research hard, argue with your heart on your sleeve, or at least enough for me to inaccurately throw a melody at you. What makes ABMUN special is not the scale of the event, but the spirit of its participants. Each of you arrives with unique perspectives, experiences, and ideas. Together, you represent the diversity and dynamism that diplomacy requires. You are not here to imitate the leaders of today, but to become the leaders of tomorrow.

As Director-General, it is my privilege to welcome you. May this conference push you beyond your comfort zones, sharpen your voice, and remind you that even in uncertain times, dialogue remains our strongest tool for building a better world.

Yours Sincerely,

Atharv Srivastav

Director General, ABMUN 2025
